How Do I Bid On Items In The Auction?

To bid in the saleroom you need to register your details in advance of the auction and you may need to provide some ID, this can be done at the front desk where we will then give you a paddle number to bid with. When you wish to bid on a lot, simply raise your paddle and catch the auctioneer’s attention.

We charge a £1 fee at each auction. This fee provides you with a printed copy of the catalogue for the sale, and also a copy of your paddle number to enable you to bid at the auction.

You can register to bid online via our website by going to the subheading 'Catalogues' and clicking ' Register For Auction' , you can also bid online live by clicking the button just underneath that labelled ' Click to bid live'. As well as this you can go to / Auctions / Cardiff City Auctions and view our catalogue and register to bid there.

Alternatively you can leave us a commission bid in advance of the auction over the phone, via email or fill out a form in person. Simply state the maximum price you would like to pay for a lot and we will purchase it for you for the lowest possible price whilst taking the reserve price and other bids into account. Again you will need to have registered as a buyer with us prior to being able to leave a commission bid.

We charge a 15% commission on the hammer price of any bought lots. We accept payment by cash, bank transfer and debit cards. Credit cards are only accepted by prior arrangement before bidding. Items may not be collected until payment in full is made. Any lots you have purchased must be paid for and collected no later than 5pm on the Monday following the auction.

How Do I Sell Items With You?

Simply bring the items in to us, we will get you registered on our system as a seller, and then we will provide you with a receipt for any items you leave for auction. We auction every Saturday and Sunday and will advise which auction your items will be entered into. We accept items for auction Monday - Thursday between 10am and 4pm.

Alternatively if you are seeking a valuation first, or the items are too large to bring in to us, please drop us an email with photographs of the items and we will do our best to advise you of the best course of action.

We charge a 15% commission on the hammer price of any sold lots. Seller payments are processed from 14 days after the auction subject to us receiving cleared funds. We pay out by cash or by bank transfer.  Any lots you have entered into the sale but have not sold, must be collected upon instruction from us. Failure to collect your unsold lots after we have instructed you to do so will result in a storage fee being charged at a rate of £5 per lot per day.
